Columbus Irosanga is originally from Okirika, a small town in Rivers State in the south
southern part of Nigeria, where he completed both his primary and secondary school
education and obtained both his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior
School Certificate.

After completing his primary and secondary school education, Columbus Irosanga proceeded to
University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree
in Theatre Arts. After which he obtained his Master’s Degree and Doctorate Degree (PhD) in
Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt. He is currently a senior lecturer at the
Department of Theatre Arts in the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Columbus Irosanga started his acting career in the early 80s when he featured in various
Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) soap operas with other top actors such as Comish Ekiye
in Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and also took part in several drama and stage play
at the Rivers State Council for Arts and Culture. He is one of the showbiz personalities to
contend with in the Nigerian entertainment industry. He joined the Nigerian movie industry
(Nollywood) in the late 1990s and rose fame in 2003 after playing the role of Igbudu, a
power chief priest in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Issakkaba” where he acted alongside
with Sam Dede, Chinwe Ntaluagu, John Okafor, Fabian Adibe and a host of other top Nollywood
celebrities.

He is currently one of the most gifted, most skillful, most creative and most talented

Columbus Irosanga has acted in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include Issakkaba, 7
Kilometre, Wickedness Uncovered, Elders at War, Royal Reward, Raped to Death, Ojadike, War
of Evil, etc.
He acts mostly as a chief priest, traditional ruler, title chief, elder, father, uncle,
father in-law and always play the role of a tyranny in several Nollywood movies alongside
with Ini Edo, Tonto Dikeh, Sam Dede, Desmond Elliot, Nonso Diobi, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola
Jalade, Stephanie Okereke, Jim Iyke, Ramsey Noah and a host of other top Nollywood
celebrities.

Columbus Irosanga in the cause of his career as an actor has been nominated for several
awards and has won few awards which include Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa
Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in Drama at the City People Entertainment Awards, Most
Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actor in a
Leading Role at the Best of Nollywood Awards.
